completed the 7 volt fan mod on the prim/sec 80mm
intake and solo exhaust fans
installed a pretty all copper thermaltakeV12
under the stock AMD fan with bushings
to keep it from resonating more noise.
i got the fans, v12 and v9 at the goodwill.
the 4800+ on stock clock 2.5GHz sat
at 20 with the stock cooling elements.
Using the v12 and fan at full blast it
sat at 16. to hush everything up
speedfan dropped the fan to 30%
and cpu went to 18.
now all the fans are so quiet that
you can actually hear the silent
barracuda ST340016 blip on data if
you listen close. + there is still
plenty room left to turn up the fan
speeds for overclocking.
