I updated my NVIDIA drivers
(191.70 official worked safest)
any higher build caused problems
with HDTV component connection
kmplayer internal codecs
then Shark's Vista 64 codec pack
then Haali's Splitter
then CoreAV the best windows H264 codec
(will work with NVIDIA CUDA cards)
Now this old rig can play 1080 videos
with pcm sound and browse multiple windowed
tabs in opera without any stutter.
Best resolution for desktop and viewing now
720x480, 1280 786 works but txt is small
KM is like a combination of all the best
attributes of every player out right now.
It just takes a lot of work since its
extremely customisable. The coolest being
you can shift a letterbox movie up and put
your subtitles down on the screen in the
black area so the image of the movie is
completely free of text!!!! Leaving you to
see the whole clear image. its really hard
to do that on other players.
I just can't edit perfectly on my machine.
The playback in Sony Vegas is not smooth,
though cuts are still possible reviewing
even at low quality is not possible. I
have to research more encoders for editing
or build a new 1080 video editing rig.
